“Here, the individual works’ significance stands behind the incomparable experience of openness, community and humanity that is set to music on the highest artistic standard.”
— Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung
Music as a dialogue between different cultures and styles is an ambitious goal that One Earth Orchestra pursues with great passion.
The members of the band, all distinguished musicians of diverse musical genres such as Classical Music, Jazz, Experimental and Global Music, have developed a unique musical language that spans across the borders of different cultures and styles to create new forms of expression.
The skills necessary to create this unique, radically diverse musical language were aquired by the young musicians in projects of musical exchange and on concert tours with their founder and artistic director Volker Staub throughout India, Chile, Peru, Ecuador und Costa Rica, where the band have collaborated with a vast number of musicians of various genres and cultures from around the world, among them several indigenous communities like the Kadar (Kerala, India), the Q'eros (Cusco, Peru) or the Bribri (Talamanca, Costa Rica).
